The 36-year-old Serbian defeated the No. 9 seed Taylor Fritz for the eighth time in a row. Advance to the US Open semi-finals, where he would face the winner of the match between Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton, two Americans.

Spectator in the stadium cheers and favors their American star Taylor Fritz on every single point. Many spectators at the Arthur Ashe Stadium were cheering for Fritz throughout the match. Djokovic was able to capitalize on the hostile atmosphere and let out a roar when he finally secured match point.
