Napoleon Hat Sells for Nearly $2 Million in Paris

The auction house in Fontainebleau, south of Paris, did not identify the buyer of the hat.

Another Napoleon hat was last bought in 2014 by a South Korean businessman for 1,884,000 euros, breaking the previous record, an auction house official said. Auctioneer Jean-Pierre Ossant told Reuters the hat was a trademark for Napoleon, who owned 120 such hats in his lifetime.
