The Blue Card is essentially the same as the American Green Card. In Germany, this scheme has been in place for a decade. With a lower income requirement, it will now be easier to obtain. Workers will also have more flexibility to change careers after entering Germany. However, employment in professions such as law and medicine will still require additional qualifications.

Right of residence is now easier

Skill workers with professional or educational qualifications who meet all the requirements are now entitle to a residence permit. The Federal Employment Agency has been instruct to speed up the process of immigration of skill foreign workers.

Experienced skilled workers no longer have to come to Germany to prove again that they are experts in their field. However, it will be mandatory for them to bring attested certificates from their respective countries. Further changes in this regard will be effective from March 1, 2024.

Qualifications and Experience

Anyone who wishes to further their education or skills stay in Germany for up to three years for the require qualification while also being allow to work up to 20 hours per week. Similarly, students and trainees will allow to work part-time. If employers in Germany agree, skill workers will able to come directly to Germany and be immediately authorize to work. It will also be check whether their documents are correct and they are eligible for the job.

It will also be possible to increase the period of stay of these skilled persons in Germany by three years. The conditions for these persons to come to Germany include two years of experience and taking the German language A2 course. Germany immigration Laws is implement for skill and qualify workers.

Family Reunification

Skill people coming to Germany immigration laws will also be able to invite their families. Skilled workers coming to Germany for this purpose will have to prove that they are able to support their spouse or children, but they do not have to show whether they have adequate housing. A card of opportunity

A points-base “Opportunity Card” will introduce in June for those holding equivalent foreign qualifications. People who get this card will be able to stay in Germany for one year to find a job. However, for this they have to prove that they have enough money to survive in Germany until they get a job.

Professional Qualifications

Others will require a university degree or at least two years of professional qualifications, plus either an A-level German course or a B-2 English language course. The Opportunity Card holder will be able to work up to 20 hours per week. The holder of this card will also be able to extend the period of stay in Germany by two years by showing an employment contract.
